Who is Paul Grantham?

I'm a UK based Consultant Clinical Psychologist. With degrees from Oxford, Sussex and Liverpool Universities I have extensive NHS and private practice experience-in the therapy, training, clinical supervision and personal development fields. I also hold an Honorary Professorship in Clinical Psychology from PSMedUniv. During the course of my career I have held a number of substantial professional positions including being the Chair of the DCP Affiliate's Group and Founder Chair of the BABCP Dialectical Behaviour Therapy SIG.

I continue to see clients for personal development and clinical problems both in groups and individually. In my work, I employ a number of evidence based approaches – including Integrated CBT, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy.

My specialist areas are wide ranging but include client motivation, anger problems, developing clear life goals, attitude-behaviour change (particularly regarding habit change) and clinical supervision. I am the author of three books: Practical Applications of Solution Focused Therapy (2016), Practical Approaches to Motivating Clients (2017)and I Want to Stop Procrastinating Now! (2021). I'm currently in the final stages of completing his latest book Integrated CBT For Impostor Syndrome - assuming I dont procrastinate. Regarding my many professional articles I have most recently published articles on CBT for Stroke Patients & Therapeutic Cultural Competency For Working with the UK Hong Kong Community

Apart from client work, I provide Clinical Supervision to a range of therapy professionals – from Coaches to Counsellors to Consultant Clinical Psychologists. I also run groups and individual sessions for Clinical Supervisors who are looking for Supervision of their own Supervision. For further details regarding my current supervision availability and cost please contact me directly below.

I strongly share the belief that “The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind.” – a statement first articulated by William James nearly 150 years ago. I see the combination of compassion, optimism and recent therapeutic advances as the most effective way of helping my clients to achieve that.

I can't emphasise enough how nicely created the courses are by Prof Grantham. I dont like to miss any of his words so I study his recordings again and again to catch all the essence. At times Ive been mesmerised by the breadth of his knowledge

What can I say. I love your type of therapy. Your idea that you can't move forward if you hold onto your past has been a real eye opener and I can already see that strategy you taught me working already. You won't believe this but Im already less preoccupied with that trauma with my father. Thank you.
